The information contained here is from my research on Essential Oils and how they are used currently and where they came from in the past.  I work with only high quality essential oils.

Raindrop Therapy

The Raindrop Therapy is a method of using massage and essential oils applied on various locations of the body.  It has been purported to bring the body into structural and electrical alignment and is typically  used to help straighten spinal curvatures and fight against viruses.    However, results vary and this should not be taken to mean that it will work in all instances.  I use this therapy as a relaxation and balancing technique only and do not make any claims as to it effect on curvatures of the spine.

The Therapy is a simple application of dropping oils like little drops of rain from about six inches above the body.  Hence, the name, Raindrop Therapy.  It takes anywhere from 30-40 minutes to complete and the oils will continues to work in the body for about 5 to 7 days after the treatment, with continued balancing possibly taking place during this time.  In my experience the treatment does not hurt and is always beneficial is some way.

Raindrop Therapy is done using a massage table with the receiver lying face down.  The essential oils used, because they are derived from plants and are the very life force of the plant, innately carry their own intelligence and frequency.  This intelligence and electrical frequency, when combined with the intelligence and electrical frequency of the human body create a greater healing process.  If you give the body the proper tools with which to work it is capable of healing itself.

The Raindrop Therapy is NOT a “cure-all”, nor a magic bullet.  It is however, a powerful tool to use to help restore a balance of good health.  A healthy body is the result of a well-rounded exercise program and a proper diet.  And health is everything you do, say, hear, see and eat – the Raindrop Therapy can be a part of that program.

Oils used:

Valor – a combination of spruce, rosewood, blue tansy, and frankincense in an almond oil base – help balance electrical energies within the body. – used on the soles of the feet and the shoulders

Thyme – one of the most antiseptic essential oil, it is anti-infectious, anti-bacterial and antiviral.  There is some indication that scoliosis is the result of some viral and/or bacterial activity that has taken place in the body at some point before the scoliosis began.  Essential Oil can easily penetrate the body and may help kill any virus or bacteria that may be present.

Oregano – works similar to Thyme, but is more aggressive and may help stimulate the immune system, balance metabolism and strengthen the vital centers of the body.

Wintergreen – an anti-inflammatory and may help to relieve pan.  Excellent for bone, muscle and joint discomfort.  It’s primary chemical constituent, methyl salicylate, has a cortisone-like activity, which may help with arthritis, tendonitis and rheumatism.

Cypress – may help circulation and may help relieve spasms, cramps, edema, cellulite, varicose veins and water retention.

Peppermint – one of the most highly regarded oils for soothing digestion, it is used here to soothe and strengthen the nerves.  It also helps bring harmony between the other oils in order to enhance their individual activity.

Basil – helps smooth the muscles with its antispasmodic activity and is also know to stimulate the nerves, alleviate mental fatigue and relieve migraine headaches.

Marjoram – is an antispasmodic, and may help relax the muscles and relieve cramping, aches and pains

Aroma Siez – works like marjoram but is a blend of basil, marjoram, lavender, peppermint and cypress that has many similar properties and will enhance the results of the marjoram alone.

A mixing oil is used to dilute the oils that are high in phenols, which may give the skin a burning sensation for people with fair to light skin.  It may be used after applying the oregano and thyme.

Ortho Ease Massage Oil is used on the entire area after the Raindrop application is finished.  This oil is a combination of the oils of wheatgerm, grape seed, sweet almond, olive, bitamin E and the essential oils of wintergreen, juniper, marjoram, red thyme, vetiver, peppermint, eucalyptus australiana and lemongrass and is designed to soothe muscle aches and minor swelling.  It was created after extensive testing and has been used in European hospitals.

All of the oils are applied along the spine at the energy centers and gently spread along the curvature of the spine.  Light massage in used starting at the sacrum and extending up to the atlas (the first cervical vertebrae at the base of the skull).

A hot towel is applied to the entire back after all the oils are applied and massaged into the spine.  This is covered with a blanket, dry towel and/or sheet.  The back can become very hot at this time and should peak in about 5-8 minutes.  It will then cool right down to where it feels pleasant.  The water in the hot towel drives the oils deeper into the skin.  The more out of balance, the more virus or bacteria activity in the body; or, the more inflammation in the spine, the hotter the area will become along the spine.  Some people will experience no heat, while for others it will be mild and very pleasant.  For others it may be hot and a little uncomfortable.

After this the Mixing Oil or Ortho Ease will be applied to the area and a general back massage given.
