Some of our American foods and food customs are similar to those of

Here's a sample recipe:
| Onion Soup (Soupe a L'Oignon) 4 Tbs. butter or oleomargarine |
Melt fat in heavy pan. Add onions and cook gently until golden brown
(about 10-15 minutes). Add beef stock, check the seasonings, and cook for 15
minutes. To serve, place a slice of toasted bread in soup bowl, add soup and sprinkle bread with cheese. 6 - 8 servings |
